The Athena’s Vineyard Chardonnay was mentioned as one of the best Chardonnay of Australia by Jancis Robinson team and rated 17,5/20 and you know what : it is ! Very ripe fruit, with some tropical notes, smoke and honey from the oak, but then on the palate a lot of freshness lifting up the wine and balancing it perfeclty with the alcohol . A full bodied wine, old classic Burgundy style with new world hints and a great lively finish.

The Domaine Bellvale has 8 hectares of Chardonnay, in probably the best region in Australia to produce Chardonnay and Pinot Noir due to the climate in the South Gippsland.
Vines are planted 2m row spacing by 70cm plant spacing / 7150 plants per hectare
Ageing of the wine is done in a combination of new and used French oak casks for at least 12 months
To fully enjoy this chardonnay, let it rest for 3 to 5 years . The screw cap doing a great job at keeping it very young
