Bellvale Pinot Noir Quercus 2007

    Fred’s Tasting Note :

The Pinot Noir 2007 is definitely at its best . Long ageing does good to John’s wines for sure : i am loving the soft rounded tannins due to the ageing , forest floor, meaty and mushroom notes ; dark fruits with spicy smoky notes too , with a long and delicate finish.

A touch of Burgundy in this aged “Aussie” Pinot from the best Pinot Noir producing region in Australia

FD Rated : 94/100

The Domaine Bellvale has 10 hectares of Pinot Noir , in probably the best region in Australia to produce Pinot Noir due to the climate in the South Gippsland .

Vines are planted 2m row spacing by 70cm plant spacing /  7150 plants per hectare

Ageing of the wine  is done in a combination of new and used French oak barriques for at least 12 months

Then further ageing is done in the cellar once bottled for at least another year for the Pinot Noir : it fully expresses its delicacy and finesse after a minimum period of 5 years of age

Enjoy !

Delicious. I completely adore this wine, its earthy and has really soft tanins.
We had this with roasted lamb and it honestly improved the meal so much.
